About Pickseed

PICKSEED Canada was founded in the late 1940s by Otto and Marie Pick as a seed company selling forage mixtures directly to Ontario farmers. The company expanded rapidly during the next four and a half decades. Today, PICKSEED Canada is still centered in Ontario and is a leader in producing and selling improved forage seed worldwide. The company operates the only private forage research in Canada, developing persistent, productive varieties for the more demanding northern climates.

Pickseed Canada and the Sure-Gro Inc. entered into a license and supply agreement for the residential grass seed products. Pickseed will produce and packaged quality grass seed and Sure-Gro will market and distribute the packaged grass seed to the retailers.

Where PICKSEED's Lawn Seed Comes From

The origins of our PICKSEED lawn seed trace back to our leading edge plant-breeding program in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The world's grass seed is produced in this region. We develop our varieties for deep green colour, natural resistance to disease and insect attack and for lower, slower growth. The varieties are then grown for seed by leading producers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Once the seed has been harvested, we carefully clean out the chaff and weed seeds. Our certified analysts test the seed so that we can ensure top quality before we put the seed in the bag for you.

If you are dissatisfied with the results you obtain, send your empty bag(s) to the Sure-Gro Inc. and we will provide a hassle-free replacement of an equivalent amount of seed at our cost or your purchase refunded. If you send a short letter detailing your problem, we will try to make a recommendation to ensure success with your next planting.
